What are your opening hours?

We are open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 3pm, Saturday from 7am to 4pm and Sunday from 8am to 4pm. Dinner is served Thursday from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, and Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm to 9.30pm.

Where are you located?

Dispensary 1908 Cafe & Bar is at 33 Glebe Point Road, Glebe NSW 2037, just behind Broadway Shopping Centre and a short walk from the University of Sydney.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes. There is 3 hours free parking right behind the cafe.

Do I need to book a table?

Walk-ins are always welcome. You can also book online through our reservations page, or call us on 0411 303 985.

Are you licensed?

Yes, we are fully licensed. We serve drinks alongside our day menu and through dinner service Thursday to Saturday, and we host live entertainment.

Do you serve breakfast all day?

Yes. Our breakfast menu is available all day, and the lunch menu starts at 12pm. See the full breakfast and lunch menu.

Do you cater for gluten free and vegetarian diets?

Yes. Most dishes on our breakfast and lunch menus have a gluten free option, gluten free bread is available, and vegetarian dishes are marked on the menu. Please let our staff know about any dietary requirements when you order.

Can I host an event or private function?

What is the history of the building?

The building at 33 Glebe Point Road was designed as a private residence in 1896 and opened as the Sydney United Friendly Society Dispensary in 1908. Customers brought their own bottles and jars for ointments, cod liver oil, lime water, poppy heads and chamomile flowers. The heritage building is now a cafe and bar.
