Had a wonderful meal at Dispensary 1908 Cafe & Bar! Everything we ordered was good, from the entrees right through to the mains. The portions were so generous we happily skipped dessert. The drinks menu is on the shorter side, but it covers the classics most people want. Definitely recommend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great service from start to finish. Shree took our order and served everything with a lovely smile, making us feel so welcome. The café has a positive atmosphere, and the food and drinks were absolutely outstanding. Highly recommend!

This is a great cafe, only about a 15-20 minute walk from our hotel in the CBD. Although the cafe was really busy, we were served quickly and didn't have to wait long for our food. The portions was huge and the food was all fresh and delicious, great value for money and I'd definitely recommend this place!

Our Story

Originally designed as a private residence back in 1896, 33 Glebe Point Road opened as the Sydney United Friendly Society Dispensary in 1908. Patients would bring in their own bottles and jars and purchase ointments, leeches, cod liver oil, lime water, camel hair brushes, poppy heads and chamomile flowers.

This beautiful historic building now functions as a hub for world class coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch, blending old style with modern comforts. Step back in time and grab a seat.
